The freedoms we enjoy often come at a price. That price is paid by the men and women of our armed services. Those men and women don’t have the opportunity to celebrate the holidays like we do here at home. But a taste of normalcy, no matter how small, can really help lift the spirits of our troops. Operation Gratitude is gearing up for their annual Halloween candy drive and Ladera Ranch, along with other Orange County communities are ready to help.
Get ready to help Operation Gratitude during their annual Halloween candy drive and donate some bite-sized doses of home to our troops.
Operation Gratitude
Operation Gratitude has been lending a helping hand to our troops and first responders since 2003. Over the years, they have sent out almost 2 million care packages filled with tastes of home. Each care package is put together with donated products totaling $45-$100 per package. Donations help Operation Gratitude thrive and help keep the spirits of our troops and first responders lifted. Anyone can donate to Operation Gratitude at any time, but during Halloween, are packages get sweeter. This time of year, Operation Gratitude opens the gates to their annual Halloween candy drive.
Halloween Candy Drive
Every year, Operation Gratitude asks communities to donate for special drives. During Halloween, that drive is the Halloween candy drive. During this drive, donations are asked for in the form of Halloween candy. Last year, Operation Gratitude collected a record-breaking 533,891 pounds of candy. It would seem that year after year, records are shattered and that means it’s time to break another record.
Donate to Operation Gratitude with Sandi Clark and Debbie Miller
We are teaming up with Operation Gratitude again this year to help bring the communities of Orange County into the mix. Our goal is to collect as much candy as we can from all over the county and donate to Operation Gratitude. We have broken our previous record of 2,220 pounds of candy and we want to do even better. Donating has been made easy thanks to a little experience.
Donations can be made by giving us a call at (949) 293-5139 and asking us to pick up your donations right from your own home! You can also drop donations off at our offices and can make arrangements via email at Debbie@SandiandDebbieHomes.com. Any donations must be unopened candy and placed into a Ziploc bag. Before dropping off your donation, be sure to take a picture and share it with us on Facebook!
