The tagline, “Changing lives, one home at a time.” is not just something we have on our website. There is the actual meaning behind this tagline, but where does it come from? The most obvious is that buying or selling a home is something we know each client takes very seriously. The process and the results are life-changing in most cases. But it takes more than just a finger point in the right direction to change lives. It takes going above and beyond as realtors.
Going above and beyond as realtors is the most important aspect of helping people change their lives in the best ways possible.
A Realtors Job for Buyers
Before we can start going above and beyond as realtors we must understand what a realtors job consists of. Most people think it is just to make offers on a home for clients. However, there is so much more to the job. Realtors must learn about their clients’ wants, needs, and dreams. This is the starting point. Once we learn everything we need to about our clients we move onto touring the market. The negotiations and paperwork that follow should be made as easy as possible for the clients by the realtors. Sometimes, that is all it takes.
A Realtors Job for Sellers
Realtors don’t just help people buy homes, they also help sell them. This situation requires very different work. A realtor must help make sure the home is ready to be viewed, advertise the showings, advertise the home, and more. People begin making offers on the home and that means negotiations. The goal of a realtor who is representing a seller is to get as close to the sellers’ desired price as possible. However, that requires market knowledge in order to judge what the home is worth and what a fair price would be for everyone. But going above and beyond as realtors can affect both scenarios, buying and selling.
Going Above and Beyond as Realtors | For Buyers
A house is a place that we turn into a home and we do that in many different ways. We all want to just buy a home, settle down, and live out our lives in a single place. Of course, we explore and live our lives but we all want a home base that feels safe and that we love. That means that going above and beyond is realtors means helping make dreams come true. For example, we come across clients who fall in love with a home that isn’t for sale.
This is a tough situation but a dream home is a dream home. Most realtors might use that home as inspiration to help find you a home similar to the one that’s not for sale. However, we like to see what possibilities there are there first. That means we will knock on the door and ask what it would take to buy the home that isn’t for sale. This requires much more negotiating and doesn’t always work out. But we would rather give it a shot and see if we can make our clients’ dreams come true before telling them we will find the second best.
For Sellers
Going above and beyond as realtors for sellers is very different than it is for buyers. This requires us to help our clients set up their homes and prep them for showings. Things like cleaning, landscaping, repairs, everything can be fixed. The goal of representing the seller is sharing your sales knowledge to help make the house more appealing to others who are shopping around.
There is also the matter of the sale price. We want to make sure the seller we represent to know that we will do everything we can to make sure they get the price they want. That may require aggressive negotiations and a lot of back and forth but that is something the seller would never know. Of course, if there is big news we share that with the seller we represent. However, our goal is to make it as easy as possible which means dealing with the negotiations on behalf of our seller so they can live their lives. There is nothing better than getting exactly what someone is asking for their home without having to involve them in the boring back and forths. There are so many more ways we are going above and beyond as realtors. You can discover them all if you need to buy or sell or even rent a home. Just give us a call today!
