The holiday season is a particularly hard time for military members and their families. Most service men and women are deployed away from their families. But we want to make sure they know they are not alone. In fact, we are working with Operation Gratitude to support or military members. All we have to do is give them a little piece of home and let them know that we care. You might be surprised just how much a simple reminder like that could do. Operation Gratitude 2019 is here and you have the opportunity to make a difference this holiday season.
Welcome to Operation Gratitude 2019, where we remind our troops that they will never be alone we will always support them.
What is Operation Gratitude?
Operation Gratitude is an organization that works hard to support our troops in unique ways. In fact, they have sent more than 100,000 care packages filled with candy, snacks, entertainment, hygiene, and other items to all levels of troops. Veterans, active duty men and women, first responders, wounded warriors, and caregivers can also receive these packages with personal letters of appreciation. The goal is to let these strong men and women know that we care about them and the work they do all in an effort to protect us. Times get especially hard for these people during the holiday season. That is why we are joining forces with Operation Gratitude 2019 to lift their spirits. This is our small way to say thank you for your service but also for being the type of person you are. You answer a call that not everyone can answer and that speaks volumes about who you are.
How to Help
Operation Gratitude collects many different things to add to these care packages. Everything is sorted out so that every care package includes a bit of everything. We will be collecting the candy for these packages. This is the perfect time of year to collect the Halloween candy that no one could ever finish! Why not share that candy with some people who can’t run to the corner store and get a treat?
Sandi and Debbie Homes has collected more than 10,000 pounds of candy since we started joining forces with Operation Gratitude. We want to take that number even higher for Operation Gratitude 2019.
How to Donate
You have a couple of different ways to donate candy to our cause.
- First, you must make sure that the candy has not been opened and is in either a Ziplock style bag or a plastic grocery style bag.
- We have made it even easier to donate this year as well. In fact, all you need to do is drop off your bags to Ladera Ranch Middle School. You can drop off donations in the front lot, near the recycling. Speaking of, we want to thank the PAL class for assisting us in collecting these donations. You can drop off your donations throughout the mornings November 4th-6th. The donation spot will be open on Monday and Tuesday from 7:40 AM until 8:10 AM and Wednesday from 8:40 AM until 9:10 AM. You can also email us for donation pickups at Debbie@Sandianddebbiehomes.com.
