Rancho Santa Margarita is one of Orange County’s youngest cities. It has a master planned feel even with the rolling hills. But there are plenty of things we can still learn about the tranquil retreat so many have decided to call home.
There is plenty to learn about Rancho Santa Margarita that could help you decide if you want to call it home as well. Rancho Santa Margarita is a city filled with rolling hills. However, there are a few cities that surround it; Mission Viejo is to the west, Coto de Caza and Las Flores to the south, and Trabuco Canyon to the north.
But the best part might be the Cleveland National Forest to the east. That means there are plenty of ways to escape the hustle and bustle of SoCal life. Having a National Forest nearby gives you so many ways to escape.
But having other entire cities around also means you have access to great shopping, dining, and entertainment if nature isn’t quite your thing. Ultimately, people must know that Rancho Santa Margarita is divided into three central communities.
Some of the communities are easily distinguished thanks to the rolling hills. These communities include Dove Canyon, Rancho Cielo, and Robinson Ranch.
Rancho Santa Margarita Community Information | Dove Canyon
Dove Canyon is a private residential community on the east side of Rancho Santa Margarita. There are only 1200 homes in this community with more than 5000 residents. Still, this community has a small-town feel that many people enjoy.
You will find a Jack Nicklaus signature golf club just beyond the gates of this lovely community. But golfing isn’t the only thing you will find within the community. There are also parks, fields, and a reservoir.
There is also a shopping center just outside the gates, making stopping by for a quick errand on the way home much easier. The entire community is made up of single-family homes.
Rancho Cielo
This community is a smaller one on the east side of Rancho Santa Margarita. The gated entry has a security guard near the Plano Trabuco Road and Dove Canyon Drive intersection. Like Dove Canyon, Rancho Cielo is also made up of all single-family homes.
This private community is even smaller than Dove Canyon, with only 245 homes, which gives it that small-town feel. The community may be on the smaller side, but it is easier to enjoy the private pool, spa, tennis courts, volleyball courts, and basketball courts.
That also means that finding opportunities to become part of the Rancho Cielo community is hard to come by and will be snagged up quickly if they become available.
Robinson Ranch
The last community to talk about in Rancho Santa Margarita is Robinson Ranch. Robinson Ranch is a mid-sized community that covers the northeast side of Rancho Santa Margarita. This community is the oldest in Santa Margarita and offers several condominium areas.
There are also two large parks that serve the community very well all year long. This is the area you will find most of the shopping and entertainment opportunities. The schools of the city are also found in Robinson Ranch.
You can even find trailheads for hiking, like the Bellview trailhead. There truly is a lot to discover in these communities. You can learn more about the area by visiting the community website or contacting us today!
