City Recognition

When people say that Rancho Santa Margarita is a young community, they’re referring to its incorporation. The city was incorporated on January 1, 2000. Rancho Santa Margarita was given the right to make their own decisions through a voting system after being incorporated. 

Public Safety

Orange County provides some of the public services for Rancho Santa Margarita. Orange County Sheriff’s Department and the Orange County Fire Authority provide police and fire services. While that may seem unfortunate, it’s far from a bad thing. Rancho Santa Margarita has been voted among the top safest cities in the country multiple times.

Quality of Life

As part of the master-planned community, recreation was important. No matter what part of the city you live in, you will always be within walking distance of a park. There are 22 parks currently in Rancho Santa Margarita, with 17 of them having active recreational structures.

Schooling

Rancho Santa Margarita has two school districts, Saddleback Valley Unified School District and the Capistrano Unified School District. There are plenty of schools for k-12 students to attend. Currently, there are six public elementary schools and 1 middle school. If you wish to utilize private schools, there are 4 private elementary options and1 private high school.

Members of the Rancho Santa Margarita community love living in the area for many reasons. The quality of life in Rancho Santa Margarita is high. Having a mentality that no matter how big they get, Rancho Santa Margarita will always be a small village.
