Creamed Corn Recipe for a Large Group
Ingredients for Creamed Corn:
3 lbs Frozen corn
30 oz of Heavy Whipping cream
1 Tbs Salt, 1 tbs White Pepper
4 Tbs Sugar
1 Tsp Garlic powder
3Tbs Flour
4 Tbsp Butter
Shredded Parmesan or Gruyere cheese
Directions:
Blend the cream with salt, pepper, sugar and garlic powder. Add c orn and cook in cream–stirring often so nothing sticks to the bottom of the pan and so the cream doesn’t boil. Strain out the corn when it is cooked and keep the cream in the pan. Take flour and dissolve it in a small amoujnt of water. When it is no longer lumpy, add it and the butter to the cream and blend. Bring it just to a boil and then add corn to the thickened mixture. Put in greased casserole dish (use Pam, butter or Olive oil.) Dot with butter and sprinkle cheese on the top. Put the casserole in the broiler for 2 minutes until cheese is melted.
