New Restaurants in Ladera Ranch to Try
The Mercantile East Shopping Center is where we will find the new restaurant openings in Ladera Ranch. One highly anticipated restaurant to open in Ladera Ranch is The Counter. The Counter is a custom burger restaurant that prides itself on allowing guests to step outside of their usual burger order.
The restaurant’s website says, “We think life is about experiences. Trying stuff. Learning. Being inventive.” To reach those goals, The Counter offers a wide variety of quality meats, sauces, buns, cheeses, and even blended shakes to make your meal different each time you visit.
You can find already-planned burgers like the Vaquero Burger, an all-natural Angus beef burger topped with bacon, jalapeno jack, cheddar, grilled onions, lettuce, and pico de gallo. The list of options is long if you want to build a burger on your own.
For example, there are 6 different bun options to choose from, 8 different patty options, 9 different cheese options, 15 different sauces, and a whopping 27 different toppings, 7 of which are considered “Premium.”
There are so many options that you could build hundreds of different burgers to try. This makes The Counter one of the most customizable new restaurants in Ladera Ranch.
Lemon & Life Sushi
Another one of the additions to Ladera Ranch can also be found in the Mercantile East Shopping Center. This restaurant brings tastes of China to Ladera Ranch, Lemon & Life Sushi. Many people think sushi is from Japan, and they aren’t quite far off.
However, the first iteration of sushi came from China, and it was called “narezushi.” Fermented rice was used to wrap heavily salted fish during a time when refrigerators simply didn’t exist. The rice would be taken off, and then the fish would be eaten raw.
The dish spread to Japan and, over the centuries changed. Eventually, it evolved into sushi as we know it using Japan, which is why many people think it came from Japan originally. Now, we have Lemon & Life Sushi, a restaurant that offers all of the classic sushi offerings you’d expect.
However, you can also order rice bowls, house ramen, and even udon to go along with your sushi. Offering some options besides sushi makes it easier for families to enjoy if there is a sushi fan among them, but it’s not the entire family’s preference.
This restaurant is a must-try; one reviewer even states, “Thank goodness Ladera finally has a 10/10 sushi.”
Churned Creamery
Not all new restaurants in Ladera Ranch are about savory dishes. In fact, some are more about curing that sweet tooth; enter Churned Creamery. You won’t find your everyday typical flavors at Churned. For example, there is no basic vanilla ice cream; instead, it is French Vanilla Honeydew.
The mint ice cream, which is usually mint chip at other ice creameries, is Irish Mint at churned. But the signature treat at Churned is the “CroCream.” You may recall things like the cronut, or the cruffin from other well-known bakeries. The idea here is very similar.
A buttery, flaky croissant is cut open like a hot dog bun, filled with ice cream, and topped with your favorite ice cream toppings. You can create your own crocream, picking out your ice cream and toppings. But you can also pick from various pre-determined options like peanut butter & jelly, breakfast of champions, and caramel macchiato.
This is a great snack spot for the whole family to enjoy any time of year in Ladera Ranch.
Crumbl Cookies
Cookie restaurants are becoming more and more popular across California. One of the options that has taken the spotlight is Crumbl Cookies. Crumbl is a restaurant that provides people with delicious, freshly baked cookies. Crumbl doesn’t have a set menu.
Instead, they have a weekly cookie menu that changes week to week. This means you have a reason to stop by Crumbl every single week. A lot of the options reveal themselves to be seasonal. For example, this post was updated during the holiday season, and the cookies on the menu include a frozen hot chocolate cookie, a candy cane brownie cookie, and a few classics like chocolate chunks or peanut butter crisps.
Ultimately, Crumbl is a chain that has taken over the cookie scene in California and is worth trying as one of the sweetest new restaurants in Ladera Ranch.
