What is The Rancho Mission Viejo Rodeo?
Once a year, people come together to enjoy the ideal American West lifestyle at the Rancho Mission Viejo Rodeo. This event is where competitors in the area come and try their skill in saddle bronc, bareback riding, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, bull riding and team roping. The contests are narrowed down to the top 30 who will compete for cash prizes and a chance to continue their efforts at the Nationals Final Rodeo in Las Vegas. Even if you don’t want to compete, you can fill the stands and cheer on the contestants as they show their skill and determination in the ring.
When is the Rancho Mission Viejo Rodeo at San Juan Capistrano?
The rodeo comes into town on August 25th, 2018 and ends on August 26th, 2018 for a full weekend of fun and excitement. The gates open to the public at 1 PM with entertainment and vendors getting the stage ready for one of the most exciting events in Orange County. The opening ceremony starts 3:45 PM and the actual rodeo starts at 4 PM. After the actual rodeo, there will be a concert and dance that starts at 6 PM. The fun continues on Sunday with gates opening up at 11:30 AM with entertainment and vendors. Opening ceremonies starts at 1:15 PM and the rodeo kicks off at 1:30 PM.
Where is the Rancho Mission Viejo Rodeo at San Juan Capistrano?
The Rancho Mission Viejo Riding Park is nestled between Rancho Mission Viejo and San Juan Capistrano. The park has been a very popular place for people to come and enjoy equestrian competitions and just riding all year long. Beyond the riding park, there is a recreational park and there is even an agricultural area and preservation. All in, the park has over 42 acres of land that has been preserved for your enjoyment. This park is where the rodeo takes place every year. There are other events at this location but this rodeo is the biggest and brings together the communities of Rancho Mission Viejo and San Juan Capistrano in a way that no other event can do.
